Having Dr La Follette as my OB GYN is sincerely a dream come true! I feel so incredibly well cared for! For me, her expertise, consistency, clarity, confidence in my care and wonderful personality makes her one of my very favorite doctors to see–and I have sincerely shy-d away from getting my annual pap done, etc for way too many years. Not the case anymore. Her front desk staff however has much to be desired. Its too bad because for such a Wonderful Doctor, the staff is in disconnect with the values and vision of the doctor and the place in general. For example, the receptionist is sadly cold to the point of being offensive–almost inhumane? The Office Manager speaks to “down” to clients–truly unfortunate–almost dare I say, condescending–Its as if they don’t get it that its ok to be nice or gentle or kind–most folks in Marin hold advanced degrees, no need to speak down to anyone, ever. People who are happy at their jobs do their work with Joy–Its almost like being rigid and speaking down to people is the office staff’s misaligned way of thinking/office value…. that the colder the more disrespectful they are is a work trait. Being Unkind and Disrespectful does not equal a good work ethic. All I can say to unkind people: What you sow, dear women in the office, you too shall reap! No one is immune. No one. Perhaps a kinder, more gentler way would behoove y’all.
